I lost my address in the old view of contacts! How do I get them back?
-
I have asked my email contact to send me their mailing addresses via email. And I have had problems saving and viewing these email addresses. It can be confusing, but I will describe this the best I can: When they send them to me, I have utilized the perk of rolling my mouse over the address and it will automatically pop up a small box with the option to save the address to my contacts. Now that I am searching for those save addresses, I can not view them. But after toying with it for a bit, I noticed there is an 'old view' of the contacts and a 'new view.' The old view has larger font and the contacts are listed by last name in center of the page. The new view has smaller font and all the contact are listed by first name on the left hand side of the page. The old view is where the addresses were saved. And the only way I can see the old view is if I roll the mouse over the address, use the small box that pops up to save it, then click edit. At this point, I am only able to view half the alphabet of contacts. If I click on the second half of the alphabet, it takes me to the new view....where the addresses are no longer there! I hope this all makes sense. I also hope you can help me find my addresses once again, as I am planning a wedding and these are very important to me.

I have no idea if this helps, but I was at a total loss to be able to see all the information we used to be able to see the minute we opened "Contacts" and the full pages of information appeared, large fonts, special coloring, nicknames, and of course, email addresses. Yahoo has managed to hide all of this information away, but you can get it. Unfortunately, you will have to use the process every time. By enlarging the screen of the new "Address Book" you will see everything you need, except home addresses and the like, which must be found through the new "Contacts" by clicking the name itself, selecting "Edit" and after you have what you need or change, be sure to select "Save" which takles a few seconds to upload into every category. Well, maybe we can all make it through this mess. Yahoo has absolutely made sending emails a nightmare, as well as adding, selecting, changing, altering data. "Contacts" the way we were used to (boy do I ever miss the format !), seems now to be called "Address Book". At least we can see most of our format there, including nicknames and email addresses. Unfortunately, we have to do it each time we need to write an email, but here's how: Yahoo Your Yahoo email page Now "New" = Compose, Forward, or Reply Select from underlined - To, CC, or BCC Enlarge the Address Book to full screen by dragging the lower right corner If you wish to see your Categories, here is where you get them, upper right The above gives you your "Address Book" and "Categories" within it To email: Make your selections (I prefer BCC for privacy) Bottom left of page - Input choices Now your particular contacts are in the email I always put my email address in the "To" From another answerer: If you still want to contact Yahoo about what you do not like about the new contact list, they have a feedback form. Remember it is best to be specific and polite. 1. Select which mail you use, All-New, or Classic Mail on this link: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ 2. On the help page that opens up click Contact Us button at the top. You will need to sign in. 3. Click the Yahoo Mail or Yahoo "Classic" Mail Feedback form at the bottom of the page and fill it out. Good luck My Yahoo "Classic" on Mac with Safari is different than the other two answerers, the functions they mentioned don't work for me, but great suggestions !

A few things to try. Click on Sort By at the top of the list and select the order in which you had them before, so they will be easier to find. EXPAND ADDRESS BOOK: 1. From your Yahoo mail page, click Options, Mail Options. 2. From the list on the left, click on Contacts Options. 3. Click on General Preferences. 4. Check the radio button next to 100 (maximum). 5. Scroll to the bottom and click Save. Use the little blue scroll bar on the right of the Contacts List to move down and view more addresses.

The addresses and all other information is still there in the new reformatted view. You can find it like this: Mouse over your "HI Name" at the top of the mail page and click "Contacts" in the drop menu. This view gives you a bigger version, than that teeny one inch square at the bottom left. (it doesn't change the format---just makes it slightly larger and easier to work with) Then click ON the contact's name (not IN the box). On the right side screen you'll see that contact's mail address, and to see more of their information---click on Edit and scroll through the box at the bottom of the page.
