I can't open my address book.

Why cant you list a WWW address to your address book?

  • I attempted to place a www. address in the address book, and the page would not allow it to take place. It stated something about a syntex?? I dropped the www. and placed the name and ISP and it was accepted. However when I went to send the message to the ISP, yahoo stated that the address had to be in the form of a name such as [email protected]. The address I attempted to use was a legal ISP, so why can't I use it??

    You CAN add the www add to Favs (as mentioned by another Answerer, or from your main Y! page -NOT mail - near the top left - click add a page - it's Y!s version of Favorites - these bookmarks are linked to your account, rather than a fixed location. If you log on via YOUR laptop, add it to favorites - if you log on from different desktops, add it to your second page - mine is named “Web”. You have my permission to use that name :).

Because you are supposed to insert email addresses ([email protected]), instead of web URLs(www.yahoo.com) An email address is different from a website's URL.. meaning you CANNOT have a website as a contact entry in the address book, because there's NO WAY you can send an email to a website. You send them to email addresses. And to keep it simple.. Website addresses are often stored in bookmarks/favorites, email addresses are stored in the address book. :)

Go to the Contact edit and put it under HOME for the email use fictious email addy to make the entry and use part of the web address for an identiter as the Nickname. You could just book mark it if you have a Favorite or equivalent. Also to keep the web address you can copy and paste on to a text file and then transfer to your browser, but some of the new updates make putting it into the locator box a problem , it freezes the browser in which case email the site to yourself and store it in your email files areas.
