How do I show my email recipients as "Undisclosed"?
-
I will be sending information to a large group of recipients on a fairly frequent basis. How do I send email, or create a list of "undisclosed recipients"? Thanks email gurus. K.

Answer:
Before I get into the details, basically, if you want to send e-mails to people and you don't want them to see who else got the e-mails, type in their addresses in the "BCC" (it means Blind Carbon Copy) field, instead of the regular "To" field. Sometimes, e-mail servers won't let you send an e-mail with a blank "To:" field - in that case, just type your own address in. (So the other people receiving the e-mail will see your e-mail address both as the recipient and the sender, but no other e-mail addresses.) Hmmm... I was going to write a whole explanation about how to do things in Yahoo mail, then I realized that maybe that's not the e-mail program that you're using (like maybe you're using a work e-mail). Anyways, in any e-mail program, there should be a way to create a "Category" or a "Group" in the Addresses section. Just add all your e-mail addresses in such a category or group, then, when you write your e-mail, you should just be able to choose to send it to that group in the BCC field. (IF you only have a list of e-mails and they're not inputted in any Addressbook program, then just keep that list of e-mails in a Microsoft Word program, and when you need to send an e-mail to that group of people, copy and paste those e-mails into the BCC field.) Good luck!

the other two people gave you a great answer for keeping other recipients hidden. To make lists, open your Yahoo! mail. Click on contacts, and then the pane to your right will open, displaying all your contacts. You'll see five options in the tab - add contact, add list, edit, print, and delete. Click on add list and then another pane will open that will let you add the contacts to that particular list. This is helpful if you email many people over and over. I have a "Picture People" list, in which I email a lot of people when I post new pictures on flickr. to send an email to this list, compose a new email, putting your address in the to: field. add a bcc and then simply type in the name of the list and everything is pre-populated for you.

Send out the emails to you as the "To:", and then do a "BCC:" to everyone else in the mail list. This way only your address ever shows, and nobody elses ever does.
