I neither want a group's calendar in my personal calendar nor do I want to create a new address for groups?
-
A group that I just joined has events every day that do not pertain to my life. I do not want them showing up in my calendar. I want a feature that allows me to opt out of the group's calendar. I need updates but not every event and certainly not in my daily calendar which I print off and use for my life. Powers that Be, make this happen . . . PLEASE!!!

Answer:
It seems the only option you have is to Spam the address of the sender. They will no longer have access to your calendar. The events for this group will then be removed. Open your address book and check the box next to any emails pertaining to the group. Go to the top of the page and click the Spam button.
