How can I retrieve my BCC?

My address book does not offer BCC. How do I get to choose BCC?

  • I want to forward emails and FWs without showing others the addresses of everyone who was listed in the previous forward. I had the BCC option about 4 months ago, but when this new email format came up it only provided two choices; TO and CC. Please tell me how to go back to the format that allowed 3 choices including BCC. Thanks, Cathy

  • Answer:

ADDRESS BOOK FOR EMAILING IN YAHOO: 1. Click on the New or Forward tab to open the Compose page. 2. Click on "TO" and your address book will open on top of the page you are in. 3. Check the boxes (TO, Cc or Bcc) next to those you wish to send or Forward to. NOTE: To protect your friends security and privacy, enter the names you wish to hide in the Bcc field. (They cannot see the other names). 4. Go to the top or bottom of the list and click on "Insert Checked Contacts." The address book will close and the names you selected will be in the fields you selected. You are ready to Compose or Forward your message. Click Send. DELETE PREVIOUS ADDRESSES: You can only edit After you click on Forward. After you click on Forward, the previous addresses will be in your message area. You should be able to edit anything in the email, even the subject line. Highlight all of the previous addresses (click and drag), then press the delete key on on your keyboard. Sometimes you may need to do a few at a time because the delete doesn't always work on a large list. Go inside the blue line to get the rest. Can't remove that lately. NOTE: Be careful though. Sometimes you may delete the entire message also, if you go too far. If this happens, click the back button and start over.

If you are using Outlook you need to open a new mail message then click on the 'To' icon in the email address bar, this will bring up your address book and you will see to, BCC and CC at the bottom of the screen. Hope this helps. Also note that some mail boxes will not receive messages that their address is BCC'd in as they are used a lot by spammers, it may be treated as junk straight away

Above the "To" field and to the right, in small blue letters is "Insert Addresses...." and "Show BCC" Select the "Show BCC". It needs to be done for each email, unless you are using the "Address Book", and the BCC is one of the 3 fields shown. It is a bother, but BCC is still there and should be used (I think) to protect the privacy of email addresses and prevent any "Reply All" from being used in a negative way (by someone other than the original sender) When I use BCC, I always put my email address in the "To" to prevent the "Undisclosed Recipients" from being on every email that is received, since most people will not open an email that says that. Good luck

If you are using Outlook, start a new email. In that new mail window, select View from the toolbar and choose "BCC field". This will now stay forever.

For Susan W I have a snap shot of the Old Address Book if you are still interested. How can I get it to you?
