Email addresses I've deleted from contacts still show up as default when I send an email?

I changed my sister's email address in my contacts, but when I start an email a whole list of possible addresses come up, and the deleted address is the top one. How do I get rid of it? I don't know what technical terminology to call this so searching in help is time consuming and NOT helpful. If anyone has an answer, I need non-techy language step-by-step to fix this. Thanks!

The same thing has happened to me for a year or more...can't get rid of the old ones for some reason.
