How to automatically export contacts from Thunderbird?

How can I export my Yahoo! contacts to Gmail??

• Hi! I am doing exactly how Gmail says I should export contacts from yahoo... Which is go to Yahoo Mail->Options->Address Book->Import/Export and then scroll down in Export section you will see Yahoo! CSV: Export now. When you press export now button you can save that file containing all your contacts to your desktop. After you've done that exporting them to Gmail is easy... But! Here's what happens next. As I'm using Windows XP SP2, when I try to open that file, windows says it doesn't recognise the file type .csv Therefore I'm not being able to export contacts to Gmail... Can someone tell how to fix this problem please, so I can easily export contacts to Gmail??? Thank you very much!

  You do not need Excel to "open your file" on your PC. The exported .CSV file would have to be "imported" to your Gmail contact list. You may do this by logging onto gmail and Clicking on "Contacts" -> Import Click on Browse and point to the ".CSV" file that you exported from your Yahoo! email account and click on "import contacts" You should have all your contacts added to your gmail contact list.
