How do I download attachments that take forever for the virus scan?

In Yahoo email, some attachments do not download. When I click on them, I get yahoo's "Virus scanning attachment" message, but it never finishes scanning the file (even if it's relatively small). This happens (for the same attachment) on several machines (even those without virus scanning software installed) so I doubt it's my virus scanner; I'm pretty sure it's Yahoo's. But I cannot skip the virus scan so I can never get to my attachments. Anyone figure out how to get around this problem? Thanks!
