How do I upload a picture to an internet site if the picture is already in my email?
-
I have a picture that someone sent me as an email attachment. I would like to upload it to a specific internet site, but I don't have a clue how to do this. Also, when I upload the picture, is it just a copy? Will I still retain the original picture in my email? This is not a joke, I really am that computer clueless. Please take pity on me and help. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks a lot.

Answer:
You'll download the picture and it'll make a copy for you so it'll stay in your email. I'm not sure what website you're uploading to. But if you're going to upload to DeviantArt. You'll need to make an account if you haven't already. It's very user friendly so this part isn't that hard. Once you make your account. You'll need to upload some pictures. This is where it gets kind of confusing. Photo's are saved as differents types of files. Think of a website address. It always ends in ".com" or ".net". This is the same idea for pictures. The types of files pictures can be saved as are as follows from most popular to least: ".jpg" ".bmp" ".tif" ".mdi". Those are only a few examples. But your computer should already support pictures in the ".jpg" and ".bmp" format. ".tif" and ".mdi" files aren't. The way you can find this out is simple. when you go to upload your photo it'll bring up a window for you to browse your pictures. Near the bottom of that little popup window is a scroll bar thing that will allow you to browse pictures based on the format. It should say "All Files" because that's what it's set as a default. Your pictures should appear there. Its not too hard. I make it sound complicated because its a lot to take in but its not bad once you do it a few times. So answering your questions. To your question about having no clue how to upload. That's what i have been talking about it's not too hard to do. Yes, when you upload the picture it IS just a copy of the original artwork so make sure you give credit to its original owner before you do this. Yes you will retain the original picture in your email. That stays archived. Hope this helps
