  An attachment is any text document, picture, power point presentation or any other file. It can be emailed as an attachment to a document provided the file falls within the typical 5-megabyte limit (most good sized programs don’t). When you open your email you type in the address you want to send it to, the subject line and the body of the email as normal. Then you have to look for a button that says Attachment. Once you press that button then another page will open up and you will see a box that asks for the file name. You have to use the Browse button to navigate through your files to find the files that you want to send as an attachment. If the files are short enough you can attach several of them. If you just type in the file name of the file you want to send the computer can’t find it unless you have the file on your desktop, so it is best to use the browse function. Once you have finished attaching your file(s) then you hit okay to return to your email message. The file names for the attached files should be listed somewhere on the page with your email, usually with a paperclip image next to it. Once you send the email the attachment should go along with it. You need to check with the recipient of the email to make sure they got the file and were able to open the attachments. Sometimes they do not come through right and have to be resent. You may have to send them several emails with one attached document or file per email.
