How do i attach part of a programme ( rather than a document ) to an email?

I loaded all the pictures from my mobile phone onto my computer but it has sent them all to a Windows picture programme and I cannot work out how to attach them to my emails . I dont have problems browsing and attaching documents - I just cannot get into the programme or more precisely get in using my browser so that I can attach a picture
