How to send an image in yahoo?

Yahoo says "can not format image" when i try to send pictures whats the problem?

I've been trying to send these pictures to one of my friends but yahoo email will not let me my friend made a yahoo account to see if that would help but no. Is it a problem with the type of image they are GIF images would they have to be JPEG or another type to be able to send???
Answer:

You should be able to mail ALL image files, no matter what the file ending is. Remember though that Yahoo mail only allows attachments of up to 10 MB. This actally means that you can only attach up to 7.5 MB since all mail providers "blow up" attachments during transfer. Maybe that is your problem...
