Why is Yahoo changing its email policy from "no marketing" to "scanning your email for marketing"?
-
Slight change of subject. Previous Yahoo email privacy policy read: "Yahoo!'s practice is not to use the content of messages stored in your Yahoo! Mail account for marketing purposes." The new policy, buried in the upgrade process is "Yahoo! provides personally relevant product features, content, advertising, spam and malware detection by analyzing your email. Some of these features and advertising will be based on our understanding of the content and meaning of your emails." In exchange for providing a long-needed upgrade, Yahoo is taking away privacy. Why?

Answer:
