My email attachments scan ok but dont download, why?

pictures in email messages dont show, just a red cross in a box and email attachments dont download even though they scan and are virus free help!

That is because the mail program is trying to protect you against code embedded in the pictures that could be annoying or virusy. If you right click over the red cross then you should get the option to download the pictures. If you want to stop this, then go into tools / options or trust center and find the right option to turn off. The actual option is different in each version of outlook just to be helpful.
