Downloading video attachments from gmail?!?

well, ive been having this problem lately... none of the videos i download (attachments) fully download. it just reaches, say, 30%, and tells me download complete. this happens when i try to download attachments from gmail AND hotmail. how do i get around this problem and be able to download the full, complete videos from the attachments? what might be the problem?
