How big of a zip file can I receive with Yahoo Mail?

I'm trying to send a document as an e-mail attachment and Yahoo says to repackage it as a Zip file?

  • Here's what the failure notice says: "This message has been rejected because it has a potentially executable attachment "client.probate.mcmahon.fam.let.lnk" This form of attachment has been used by recent viruses or other malware. If you meant to send this file then please package it up as a zip file and resend it." I have no idea what to do here, how do I "package it up as a zip file"?

  • Answer:

Yahoo is trying to protect the person receiving the attachment. Many people click on an attachment without thinking and it runs. Putting in a zip file gives an additional level of protection. Clicking on it opens the folder and shows the file. Just right click on the file and "Send to compressed file". Now attach the compressed file. It will look like a folder with a zipper on it. ₪ ɦəlʞɹɐq ₪
