Why can't I attache a picture to an email?

I open email with a picture attached. Tell it to download. It acts like starts but closes and I cant see. ?

  • While trying to open a picture in my email, I download, then I get to the dialogue box of open or save. I can click either one, you see the box start to open but then it closes and nothing happens. I can't view my emailed pictures. Can someone help?

    Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?script=no click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

Yahoo must have changed something because many people are having this problem. It seems to be a new conflict between Yahoo’s Norton Antivirus scanning attached documents and your computer’s antivirus scanning them also. Yahoo/Norton scans when you click to download, but after the Norton scan clears it, you are unable to save or open the file. Most people have fixed it by changing the option settings in their computer’s antivirus program so it will NOT scan web-based email attachments. I have Trend Micro and this worked for me.
