Why Can't I Get Any Photos To Attach To My Email?

My photos will no longer attach to my email. I have thousands of photos in Picasa. Now, when I try to attach one, as before, I click "attach" it seems to be working, then says "done" at the bottom of the email, but nothing happens. No browse, no attachment. Help!
