How to make Outlook Express default mail client for my Yahoo mail?

Why do I have to use Outlook Express to open my mail. I always had Yahoo mail as my default.?

    Clicking on mail links on web sites or programs will transfer control to your default email application (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc). In order to use Yahoo Mail as the default email application you must install Yahoo Messenger. It then allows the Messenger program to be the interface to Yahoo Mail. You must then go to internet options and select it as the default. §

Click on tools,internet options,programs tab.There select yahoo mail as default.Then apply and ok.

have you gone to >tools>internet options> programs tab and looked to see if yahoo is one of the choices?? If so hi-lite<click on it, click apply then OK and it should work for you. I have messenger and yahoo email is not even in my programs so???? It was before I had to do a reinstall of everything, back to original. so I must have reloaded the yahoo email diferently as it was there before that reinstall. All else fails, try a system restore back to when it worked right as default.
