How can I open binary files, that are email attachments?

Why can I not download doc files in email attachments?

  • I can open jpeg but not doc files.and what program should open doc files.

if you are Internet explorer on the menu bar tools / internet options / program tab - click the down arrow for HTML editor for whatever word programs do have that used doc file when you are satisfied click apply and ok

This usually means that you have an older edition of Microsoft Word. And the dot doc file was sent on a newer version. You can buy the newer version or ask the sender to resend the file as a pdf..
