How do I open a zip file?

How do I open a zip file?

  • I dont have WinZip on my pc - is there any other way of opening a zip file? I have Windows 7 and MS office 2007. My free trial of WinZip expired and Im being prompted to buy it. Please help - thank you.

  • Answer:

If you have Windows 7, you should already be able to open zip files. Try uninstalling WinZip and see if it works. I don't have any zip opener software and I have Windows 7 Professional. I have opened a lot of zip files and haven't had any problem. You have a feature in Windows 7, take advantage of it. To uninstall WinZip, go to control panel, programs and features, and scroll down to WinZip; click on it and you should see an uninstall button; follow onscreen instructions and you should be on your way. Other people are telling you to download some software. Don't do that as it might contain malware that is harmful to your Windows 7 machine. (I've also gone through downloading junk software and getting malware)
