Go back to yahoo classic?

Need to go back to Yahoo Classic, for work?

  • This new Yahoo! Mail isn't going to work for me, too difficult, and it doesn't print out my attachments on the page. Looks more like gmail which isn't good for work. Please let us re-access Yahoo Classic as well as be able to go back to Yahoo! Mail in order to click on more "unread" emails faster and change them to "read". That part is a good feature, the other stuff was perfect as it was on Yahoo Classic.

  • Answer:

Yahoo indicates that Classic will remain but gives no method of going back. It has been discovered that turning off Javascript will allow you to return. If you are using IE go to tools ↬ internet options ↬ security. Click on the "custom level" button, go to the scripting section and disable active scripting. If you are using Firefox go to tools ↬ options ↬ content. Click on disable Javascript. When you go to Yahoo mail it will indicate that you must use Classic and will give a link. Once done you can return to the previous Javascript settings. NOTE: Yahoo has found a way to limit the link they give to only your ID. That is why a link can not be provided. ʎəɿʞɹɐq  ̊ ͜͡● ̊

Yahoo wants everyone to switch to the newest version, so has disabled any links to change back, as of May 31. There are now only two choices - the former Beta, now called Regular Mail, and the old Classic Mail. The former 'All-New' mail has disappeared, replaced by Beta. The change back to Classic can be done with a small (temporary) change. Either disable Javascript or lower the screen resolution. Once you have switched back to Classic Mail, change these settings back again. 1. For Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level. In the scripting section, disable active scripting. For Firefox and Chrome, go to Tools > Options > Content and un-check Enable JavaScript. This solution is not successful with all versions of Windows 7. 2. Lower the screen resolution one stage at a time in the Control Panel > Personalization > Display section. Once it is too low, when you open Mail you are asked to switch to Mail Classic > click Yes. There will be some waiting, flashing, and scrolling, but the screen shows up eventually. Classic Mail will continue to be available, according to the Help pages of May 19, 2011. "We rebuilt Yahoo! Mail Classic from the ground up, and the new version contains many refinements." http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/classic/settings/settings-31.html
