What are the risks of opening attachements through email?

  • what are the risks of opening attachements through email?

  • Answer:

Some attachments may contain 'bugs' which will slow down your PC, cause programs to crash and worse. Most on-board PC security programs will allow you to scan an unopened e-mail attachment. If you do not have any PC security other than a simple spy-buster, then do not open e-mail attachments. I do not have any security pgm on my PC - I do not recommend other people behave as I do, but since I only ever visit 'regulated' sites, I don't have a problem. As for e-mails, any with an attachment simply do not get opened by me they get sent to the trash can where they get auto-dumped 24 hrs later. My regular e-mailers only ever send clipped coded notes, examples below. . . BASHOLT = see you pub tonight 8pm BAGSHOT = not going to pub tonight BONGASHOT = love you etc
