How can I save attached email photos to a desktop folder?

I need to save an attached document from my email to my desktop and I can't do it!? Please help!

I need to save an attachment from my email to my desktop and it is a Microsoft Word document, I do not have Microsoft Word on my computer so it will not let me save it or do anything with it, I can't even copy and paste it...is there ANYTHING I can do to save this????? Thanks!!!
