CELL PHONE HELP - how to send text message to an email address?

I'm trying to send a text message from my cell phone to a Hotmail address, but I don't know how to do it. When I try to send it, an error comes up saying "No address." What am I doing wrong? :( I entered the Hotmail address in my contact list in the section where it says E-mail. I don't know if I entered it in the wrong place or something? It doesn't look like there's any other place to enter it >.< Am I missing some information or something? I thought it would be the same as sending a regular text message, but it doesn't wanna work that way. Any ideas or suggestions? Really need help, thank you tons

You could try to log into your e mail account by selecting the mobile e- mail app on your phone, and then select the sms option, then create your message and send to the email address. Hope this helps.
Try to write the email adress in the place that you would write a phone number and it might work
