Why my attachments won't download?

Why won't my attachments download (I get a grey square and a little red x)?

We understand that you are not able to view images in your emails using your Yahoo! Mail account and we are sorry to inform that it is an on going problem which affecting other users too. Markspike, we would like to apologize for all the inconvenience you are facing in using your Yahoo! Mail Box. On trying to resolve your issue, we've checked with our Engineering Department and they confirmed having the referred issue due to some internal technical problems. We would also like to confirm that there is nothing wrong with your account. Engineer's have also assured that they are actively working to get this resolved. While this is being worked upon, we request you to please show patience and if you are still unable to view pictures using your Yahoo! Mail Box, please make sure to inform us via a reply email so that we can forward your details (again) to our Engineering Department for further action. We hope you will understand our part in this issue as we always try to resolve your each and every issue then and there till the available features we have and to the limitation we can.
