Does anyone have problems opening attachments in Yahoo mail?

Anyone else having a problem downloading attachments?

  • I'm unable to download jpg attachments in Yahoo Mail (Classic). I see the thumbnails, but when I click on the thumb, and am prompted to "Save" or "Open", either selection does nothing. .. When I forward the email to my gmail account, I have no problems opening the attachments. .. I contacted Yahoo, and they responded with a "generic" message, telling me to turn off firewall, antivirus, clear cookies and cache, run Internet Explorer without any add-ons..well, I did everything, and it didn't help. .. But, as I said, the same email to gmail works fine. .. Anyone else experiencing similar problems? ( It's the same on three computers, so I know it't not a computer problem)

I also faced similar problems. I did the same thing as you did. I forwarded the message to my gmail account and opend it from there. I think it is a yahoo mail problem. I have seen that this problem goes away in a few days without doing anything. Some attachement that I couldn't open from yahoo were working fine on the other day.

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?script=no click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.
