How do I zip photos for email?

  • I have a MacBook and need to zip some photos (over 100) so I can email them. I can't figure out how to do it and haven't found any tutorials online. The closest suggestion I've found is to use iPhoto to send through Mac's mail--which I don't have and can't seem to sign up for. The person who requested them (for their blog) acted like it was no big deal, so it can't be impossible! The other answers here on YahooAnswers are all "It can't be done." But I know it can!

    I do not know if Zip is built into a Mac since it was originally created for a PC. There are plenty of free programs that will Zip a file for you. The only problem is that 100 photos are probably going to be much too large to be an email attachment. You may have the use the large file app that can handle up to 100 MB. there is a way to make a zip file, if you add all the pictures you want to a folder, u get double click (or two finger click) one of the options is make zip file.

Yes, it can be done. What I don't understand is why you couldn't find out how to do it. There are tutorials all over the place for zipping Mac files. I always used "Stuffit" for Mac for zipping files, but it's software you have to purchase. But, there is something else you can try just using your Mac OS. Here are instructions. The size of zipped images almost same as size of images that haven't zipped. You have to re-size them to smaller size to reduce the size. For example if you re-size an image width and height to 50% the size of new image will be reduce almost 75%. Good Luck
