Why can't I open my attachments?

Why cant i open up my attachments?

  • Everytime i get an attachment i cant open t. It keeps coming up with a blank page as anyone got any ideas why it keeps doing this and can anyone resolve it for me. thanks

    The key here is the format of the attachments--the .jpg or .mp3 or .xls or .doc or .pdf etc etc. This is called the extension & it determines what program will open the file (attachment). .jpg is opened by Windows Picture & Fax Viewer, .mp3 is opened by a media player, .doc is opened by Word, etc etc. This should happen automatically, IF you have the particular program needed. If you don't have the program, that file is not going to open. At least not without a bunch of finessing that is not possible to explain here with the info you provided .

did you send the message before you wanted to look at the attachment? if you did,YOU CANNOT LOOKUP THE ATTACHMENT OR OPEN A ATTACHMENT AFTER YOU HAVE SENT THE MESSAGE THAT THE ATTACHMENT IS WITH. Thank You

If you go into your e-mails, click on tools, then options, then security. There should be a sentence like ' do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially contain a virus'. If this is checked, uncheck it and see if that makes a difference. You may only want to do this if you have anti-virus on your computer.

What sort of attachments are they? I had all sorts of horrendous problems trying to open any attachment and put Office 2007 on my laptop. Problem solved. I needed something called PowerPoint to open 99% of them so it could be that you need something specific to open them in.
