How do I delete attachments from incoming and outgoing e-mails?

How do you delete stored photo's/attachments from incoming emails?

  This is not an answer, but I read the answer from another about deleting the email itself. I have done that, but every picture that is in an email or an attachment goes to a separate place. I am trying to figure this one out too. I did it once before, but don't remember how now. I have almost 300 pics from emails there that the emails have been deleted, plus trash emptied.
