I cannot open an attachment in one of my emails.

Emails I receive with an attachment have blank text bodies and image attachments cannot be opened.?

• These are emails from friends that contain body text and a photo attachment. When I open the email the body is blank and the attachment will not open when I click the paperclip icon. The 'download attachment' or view attachment is not an option it's just not there! When I reply to one of these (this is where it gets wierd...) the text magically appears, text attachments can also be read here however attached PHOTOS appear as unreadable pic box with an x. I started checking old attachments and it is happening with old attachments which I have opened before!!! My mailbox is 1/3 full before you ask and I am running windows. I have NEVER had a problem like this. Anyone, anyone?... I'm stumped. :(

• Answer:

  first check if your mailbox program allows attachments, then try to have them forwarded to a different email address. perhaps you've reached your storage quota in your mail program (if so delete some old stuff) check your email properties for limits on the size of your allowed attachments.
