How do I send an attachment bigger than 10mb?

How can I send a mail attachment (video) that has more than 10MB even when compressed?

  • Yahoo mail only allows 10 MB and thats not enough.would appreciate some tips

  • Answer:

Try doing a search for keywords "utility file split join" at http://www.tucows.com or http://www.download.com. Both sites have a wealth of free and shareware programs. Split the large file into smaller pieces. The recipient uses the same program to join the parts back together. OR, use an archive/compression program such as WINRAR which can split archives into smaller pieces, originally for using floppies, but you can choose the size of the parts made. OR, use a file upload/download service such as http://www.uploadarmy.com (100mb single file limit) or http://www.sendspace.com (300mb single file limit).or http://www.rapidshare.com (???mb - I do not know the file size limit).

If you pay $20 per year for Yahoo Plus then you can send up to 20mb. However your receiver may not be able to download that large a file. You could set up Yahoo Briefcase or a number of other file storage options and give your receiver the password. but Briefcase only goes to 25 mb. You can set up something like YouTube but that is very public. Burn a CD and mail it. Woo, Sendspace. I didn't know about that!
