How To Find Email Sending Job?

Sending a resume via email?

  • Hi, I've been in the search for a job for quite a while now. My resume is pretty good and I usually get responses from employers that ask that I hand deliver resumes but I never get any responses from employers that ask for emailed resumes only. Yes, it's quite possible that they're just not interested but out of dozens of sent resumes, I find it odd that I've yet to receive at least one response. Negative or not. In the past I've received and sent email attachments to friends that sometimes can't be opened. I'm really scared that that's whats happening when employers receive my emails. Is there anyway to find out, short of contacting and pestering potential employers, if they're actually able to open and view my resume?? What's the best form of sending out resume's via email attachment?? Please and thank you!

  • Answer:

You say you've sent dozens of resumes with no response. Yes, they're not interested. Your "pretty good" resume apparently did not solve a problem they had. How could it? With that kind of volume, they were all getting a generic resume. Nothing was tailored to the company. The resume is a small part of the job search. It shows all the work you've done discovering a specific company. It's directly "tailored" to address issues "that" company has. Ideally, it's being birddogged by someone inside the company you've networked with. You can't deliver that kind of attention to "dozens" of companies. Without that kind of detail, as you've demonstrated, the companies aren't interested. .
