How do I open emails with doc attachments?

• I've been sending resumes to potential employers as attachments to emails. My email provider is Yahoo. The attachments created in Wordpad, although they appear to be attached successfully when they depart, somehow migrate into the body of the email and are scrambled into a form, which is indecipherable . I've noticed that the notation of the attachment on the email screen, prior to sending, is not where I am accustomed to seeing it, below the heading " Files". It is above the headings " Files " and " Attachments " and is preceeded with the heading "Text Attachment". This may be as expected, however, whenever this arrangement appears, my attachments arrive at the destimation scrambled. If you are going to ask " Why don't you use Word to create your documents? ", I am currently a student and can't afford Word.

  This is not an uncommon problem. The easiest way around this is to copy/paste the resume to the main body of the e-mail. Many employers request this to avoid software incompatability.
