How can I open binary files, that are email attachments?

Can't open 'email attachments' or 'download files' (using IE7 in Vista) - Why?

  • The PC is in good shape and no viruses, etc. He wants to use IE7, not FF. He cannot download it ofcourse, but doesn't like FireFox for some reason. So, he doesn't want it from my USB stick. He also does not want IE8. He tried all kinds of things, but it did not help. He reset IE, etc. He hasn't reinstalled it yet - that is too drastic and he has Vista Premium. Somebody said there is a quick fix, but he forgot how he solved the problem when he had it (from AOL PC Chat-Room). If anyone knows how to fix it in easy steps, then please post an answer.

    If you go to the forum there is a thread about this problem. The poster has had trouble and eventually Yahoo sorted it out for him. http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?prop=answers&fid=122085

The system is full of glitches due to upgrades in yahoo, my suggestion is to go to yahoo blog as there is a wealth of info on such problems.!!! Yahoo Suggests a couple of cures ranging from downloading Adobe Reader, Firefox,going back to Classic Mail, etc.!!!
