How can I open an e-mail attachment when it won't open after the Nortor security pop-up clears it of any probl?

I click on an attachment to open it up and the Norton security pop-up ask me to check for problems then the screen will say that there are no problems and I should click to open, but it will not open.

Answer:
You didn't say what the file type was. Possibly you don't have an application that will open that file type. If you do, and there's still a problem, it seems like it might be a good thing that you can't open it. Norton doesn't catch everything. Is it from a friend, and are you positive the friend actually sent it? There are viruses that use users contacts list to send out spam emails to all on the list. So check with the person you think the email is from. If from an organization or business, if you haven't be in contact with that organization or business, and weren't expecting something from them, then you don't even think about downloading any attachments.
