Can't send pictures from my phone to my email?

i've been trying to send a picture from my phone to my email, and it's not working. everytime i send it, it'll say it sent on my phone, but then when i check my email it's not there. i've sent pictures to my email before, so i don't know what the problem could be. i tried sending a message with just words, and it worked fine, so i'm clueless now. i have at&t btw, if that makes any difference. thanks.
