From what I read, if a file has been overwritten, you can't recover it.

You can send the hard drive off to a forensic recovery specialist if the file is that important to you.

You probably can't, that's why you should always back up your files...and if you need it, why did you delete it? It's always a good idea to backup files, but only important ones, as it takes up computer space.
