My attachments open with notepad how do i change what they open with.?

When i open up my attachments open with Notepad and when they open they are in gibberish and cant read them. How do u change what they open up in.

Your question is a bit hard to explain but here goes. If the attachmnets are text files then notepad will open them by default however if notepad is also trying to open picture files then your going to get a lot of garbage come up in notepad. If you get a excel, or word or jpg file do they open okay?
