Why can't I open my attachments?

Why can,t i open the attachments in my e-mails , and what are pop ups?

• it says 17 pop ups are blocked what are they? and are they the reason i can,t open the attachments on my e-mails? i am a novice and don,t realy no the termonoligy (can,t spell either) help please

• Answer:

  Pop-ups are additional windows that open automatically, usually as a result of visiting a particular website (often ones with lots of advertising). They can be annoying, so some browsers including Internet Explorer block them automatically (although this can be prevented by changing the settings in Internet Options). It will not be the reason you can't open email attachments, though. This is automatic protection for you so that you don't open something that may contain a virus. Again, this can be changed within the settings of your email client (i.e. Outlook/Outlook Express, etc.).
