How to get rid of a virus in my yahoo mail, keeps sending spam to my address book, can't get rid of it, only?
-
there is some virus that keeps sending spam to everyone in my address book, can't make it quit. It's only in the yahoo mail, so embarrassing, my friends think it's me sending viruses to them

Answer:
It is probably not exactly a virus. One possibility is that a spammer has your password and keeps sending spam from your account. Change your password. Also, check for tampering with your alternate email contact address. That can be used to obtain new passwords. There are malicious scripts which run in the browser from the spammer's webpage. It is not a virus in that it does not install itself as a program. If you click on a spammer's webpage from within logged in webmail it can tell your webmail to send spam.
