How do I stop unwanted paper junk mail?

• I have a post office box and I am always getting these coupon papers or newspaper format solicitations with coupons to cut out to use on local businesses. I called the post office and they told me to sign up at www.the-dma.org. I went to the website and it is very confusing. Has anyone had any luck joining some type of list to avoid getting paper junk mail? If so, how did you do it and where did you go or who did you call? Very important, my question is pertaining to paper mail, not email or electronic mail.
