-
I get so much junk email sent from idiots/spammers all over the world. I'm not sure how they got my email address but I'm so fed up with it as some of it is now spilling from my junk mail into my inbox I'm scared I'll open a virus!!! I've never had this with my hotmail account so I've decided to finally close my yahoo account. I can't find any way to close it permanently please help if you know how?!?

Answer:
You have two choices for deactivating/deleting a Yahoo Email Address: First Accounts are deactivated and removed after four months of no use. When an account is deactivated, you won't be able to access it, regardless of whether or not email has been received in the account during that time. Or Here is the link to the Yahoo Help page for closing an account, thats deleting the ID, email address and all services associated with an ID, you cant just delete the email address you have to delete everything associated with the ID: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/changing_users/edit-23.html

You can ignore your account for at least 4 months and it will automatically be deleted for inactivity, or you can go about deleting it yourself. When you terminate your account, you permanently lose all saved data and Yahoo site access associated with your ID. You’ll be deleting your email account, address book, group memberships, Y!Answers account, Y!Messenger ID, any photos you’ve uploaded, any 360 blogs you’ve posted, etc. If you're sure you want to delete your account, make sure you’re logged into the account you wish to delete and then click on this link: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user Yahoo will ask you to enter your password one last time and then you will click on the "Yes, terminate this account" button. Your entire account will then be completely & irretrievably deleted.

You can delete the account two ways. The first is not to log in for 4 months and Yahoo! will deactivate due to non-usage. Help Links: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or... Original Y! Mail) http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya... / (for Y! Mail Beta) The second way you need to use a link. Make sure to read the link thoroughly. You are closing more than your e-mail account. Once you delete the account you will not be able to recover your account account. You will need to click the "Account Deletion" and then enter your password. The Account Deletion page will come up and at the bottom you can close the account. Here is the link. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/edit/changing_users/edit-23.html ***BE SURE TO READ ALL THE WARNIGS BEFORE FINAL CLICK**** ****ONCE YOU DELETED YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR ACOOUNT BACK*** teteteo7
