How can I block my ymail account from receiving unwanted emails from an annoying ex's email address?
-
Is there any way I can go into my yahoo/ymail email account settings and block emails from a particular sender and specific email address? I don't want to entertain my ex's obnoxious emails at all. I don't even want to see 1 email from him in my Inbox! So I would like all of his emails blocked and sent back to him with a 'straight forward' response from me automatically attached that reads: "The recipient you are attempting to email has intentionally blocked and refused the delivery of any/all correspondence from you and your email address. Please take notice that this block is done at the descretion of the recipient who does not wish to receive mail from you at this time. You may try back later. *note* the recipient is unable to view any part of the returned email; however, may or may not choose to be alerted of your delivery attempt." This would be perfect if I could set a block to automatically send any unwanted email back to the sender along with that attachment as my reply! Please help me block unwanted emails from unwanted emailers if you know how for yahoo/ymail. Btw, I was kind of able to set my gmail account to block, but for gmail, blocking isn't really an option. You're only able to set filters which allow you to forward or redirect unwanted emails to your Trash bin, other folder, or different email account if you choose. I forwarded my ex's emails to my ymail account because he only sends emails to my gmail and I read that yahoo/ymail does in fact have an actual block setting available but I cant seem to find it or figure it out. I dont know if you can set up an automatic reply attached to the blocked email you want to sent back.. but if it isn't offered it would be a great idea for someone to figure out how to add it as an additional blocking option! Any help with this would be appreciated! Thanks! My ex loves to fake and force documentation to manipulate in divorce court. This email block would help eliminate a lot of my stress over stupid 'documents'

Answer:
If you want him to receive that message, send it (with all his other information and the mail body deleted first) BEFORE you block the mail. You can add the Gmail address to the 'Additional Addresses' area of your account so it appears to be sent from Gmail (not Yahoo). Open Options, Mail Options, Account Information, Accounts ... and add your Gmail account. Save Changes (at the top) Then use the drop down menu in the From: box to choose Gmail. To block senders in e-mail, go to Options > Mail Options > Accounts > Spam in Classic Mail or in the newest (Beta) Regular Mail. Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses' on the right, enter the e-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address'. Click on the 'add' button below, then click 'Save changes" at the top of the page. The other person receives no notice; their mail is not returned as undeliverable - they have no clue, but you never receive their mail again. (Ribbit)
