Answer:
This is a known phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.

It's a scam, your account is only suspended if there is no activity for a year. Since you are posting on Yahoo Answers you are logged in and your account is active. Yahoo has all of your information from when you signed up, they would not ask for it in an email

Don't answer the e-mail, and most of all: DON'T give them your password or any personal information. Another user on the Y!A received the same e-mail you did and gave them what they asked for, and not long after that he got problems with logging in and stuff. When he finally regained control of his account, he discovered that those pricks had been using the account to try to scam his contacts for money!

1. This is spam 2. This is spoofing or phishing. 3. This is NOT from Yahoo. 4. If you had just read it completely, you would have seen that it was not addressed to you by name, but rather to Dear Yahoo Member, or something like that. THAT SHOULD HAVE CLUED YOU IN. 5. If you don't want to go to the trouble of reporting it to Yahoo, put it in spam, along with all the others you will get because you opened and read this junk. 6. NEVER, NEVER answer something like this. Their purpose is to scare people bad enough to get them to give up information. Yahoo doesn't need this info -- they already have it!

1. Don't reply to the message and give out your personal information to the scammers. Doing so will result in them changing the password, immediately denying you access to your account. 2. Report the message to Customer Care by going here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/abuse.html Choose Password Phishing as the reason for the violation you're reporting on. 3. Simply delete the message and go about your day. Hope this helps.

Yahoo would not ask you for your personal information in an E-mail like that. It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money. Do not respond to it. Report it, forward it to the FTC at [email protected] and to the abuse desk of the sender's ISP. For yahoo, report them here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya... Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you're reporting on. Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.
