Does the "Not Spam" button really do anything?

Does the SPAM button for reporting spam messages work? and if so how?

  • I have a yahoo account and as time progresses the amount of spam I get per day also increases. Everytime spam gets delivered into my inbox I report it as spam with the SPAM button. Yet every day I seem to get more spam. Does any one else have this problem. Do other people press the SPAM button and have yet to see a reduction of spam? I don't understand this at all. I do not subscribe to anything using my yahoo email. I just communicate with friends and such. Yet I get mortgage offers and much more garbage spam that doesn't apply to me in anyway. Now I get hundreds of spam message in my bulk folder and about 10 spam message in my inbox perday. Do spammers do their research on yahoo users and send their spam to a certain demographic using sophisticated software? I'm just annoyed. Well if anyone has any answers I would love to hear them. Thanks.

    So far, my spam works,, Do you have spam connected? If . not.....if you do not, they will keep sending it. If it keeps up, report it as spam. If you do not know how, report it to yahoo. Report it......ASAP, delete again, so they will not know if it you got it or not. On view, click on it..properites....You then can go to your Mac fee, or whatever you have and delete them forever,

The SPAM button is useless, it's just a prop, don't even think of using it, it's a REAL JOKE !!!

I don't get get as much spam as you described. However, I have clicked the spam button to designate it as such, and I'll get another email from the same thing the next day. So to answer your question, I don't think it works.

I also got a ton of junk in my inbox, so I set it up so that most of the junk e-mail goes to bulk mail now. Then I just delete the messages in the bulk folder, and don't even have to look at them. I do get a few in my inbox still but not to many.

the spam button in yahoo allows you to mark 500 email senders as spam once you have reach that amount it still works like it is marking them as spam you need to go into the options for yahoo mail and clean out the blocked addresses. all that being said it still is a useless thing to do as most spam senders do not use the same address twice
