Why can't I delete the mail in my spam folder?

What does the unsubscribe folder suppose to do when spam E-Mail is placed into it?. Does it delete the spam?

  • from the Unsubscribe folder by itself?, and most important, ( Does this transfer of Spam mail to the Unsubscribe folder prevent the Spam mail from ever being in your inbox again). I sure hope it will prevent it from coming back...

  • Answer:

NEVER click an unsubscribe link in a Spam mail! Just delete it. If Spam mail arrives in your Inbox, mark it as Spam. Opening spam mail or clicking 'Unsubscribe' notifies the spammer that your address is active, so you will get even more spam from that group. Even worse, spammers sell their lists of active addresses to other spammers too - the result is even more spam! (Ribbit)

Well----as "Froggy" says------YOU should never open an email to click the "unsubscribe" link. There was a write up--(last week on Yahoo homepage)--about the way to use the newly appointed "Unsubscribe" folder. First and foremost----don't open it to move it---just "drag and drop" it to the "Unsubscribe" folder. Once there, Yahoo will go about the process of unsubscribing it. Wheather or not they will be successful, is yet to be proven, but their chances would be better than yours at getting it done. It "might" not be instantanous----but if any more arrive----it would go to the Unsubscribe folder, instead of your inbox---where Yahoo (I assume) would keep working on it. At least that's what Yahoo says.
