How do you block someone from calling/texting you?

I want to know can you block on yahoo? I want to block someone I don't like anymore.?

  • I want to know if on the MEssenger I can block someone or if I just delete them? Becuase I would LOVE to know if I can block someone without reporting abuse.

    When you delete a contact from your Messenger List, he can still see you when you are online so he can still send you a message, because your id is still on his Messenger list. You need to put him in your Ignore List so he cannot send you IMs anymore. You need to delete the name/id of the contact before blocking him....so jot down the name/id first before you delete (because you'll need it as we go along with the blocking process). Do a stealth on him too so he can't see you whenever you are on "available" status. Here's how you stealth him -- On your YM, click Actions > Send an Instant Message > Other Contact......type in his id > OK (an IM window opens. Do not type anything....you are not IMng him) On the IM window, click Actions > Contact Options > Stealth Settings...select "Appear Permanently offline to xxxxx". Close IM window. Having done that, right click the id and click "Delete". Now, you are going to "block" or add him to your "Ignore List". Here's how to do it.. 1. Click the "Messenger" menu in Yahoo! Messenger and select "Preferences." 2. Click the "Ignore List" category. 3. Select the option labeled "Ignore only the people below." 4. Click the "Add" button. 5. Enter the Yahoo ID of the contact you want to ignore. 6. Click the "Ignore" button. 7. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window.

like this. double click his name then look for the ignore button then after that put yourself permanently offline to him then delete him from bother you're messenger and address book :D get that bastard out of there if you're being bothered. good luck:D

go to contacts and click on the person then go to the yop of ur page and click block user.

you can block them through the "messenger/preferences/ignore list" option. I blocked someone after a major disagreement, it just means that they can't see if you are on-line so you don't have to speak to them - you don't have to report it as abuse just because you have fallen out with/no longer want to have convo's with someone.

go to messenger preferences - click on ignore list and add the id of the person u want to ignore :) you cal always do the same procedure to un-ignore

You certainly can, I have done it, someone keeps trying to have a conversation with me and I have no clue who it is, so when it pops up, click on it and if you are using microsoft, internet explorer 6, a warning will come up on the screen and all you have to do then to click on the "block this user from my computer" and its done, I hope this helps, Goodluck!!!
