How to ditch my current Yahoo addy and get a new one?

Basically, I have had enough of all the trash spam that comes in to my yahoo e-mail account every day. I can't get rid of it and filters don't seem to work. Can I cancel my current addy and get a new one?

just make a new one, don't ever mind the other one for a least 6 months (just to be sure), then email all your friends and tell them you got a new email addy!

Simply start from scratch with a new set of details....email addy etc, as far as I am aware you can't cancel one, but just don't use it, no limit on how many addresses etc one has from Yahoo

you cant, you have to open a new one and leave the one you have running for at least three months without opening it and then it will shut down on its own after the three months
