How can I find an automatic form filler on Yahoo?

I receiveda lottery winnings form from Yahoo. Is this real and how can I find out?

  • It says I won something from Yahoo's Beta Mail Lottery. They ask for personal info to release my funds. I normally wouldn't bother with it, except it says it is from Yahoo.

  • Answer:

This is a SCAM. Check out the below link for confirmation of various lottery scams, including the famous Yahoo/MSN lottery scams and how to report them. http://www.hotscams.com/articles/473/1/A-New-Twist-in-Yahoo-Orange-MSN-Lottery-Scam/Page1.html Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Just remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace, hopefully along with the thieving scumbags who send them. There is no such thing as Yahoo's Beta mail lottery. There is no such thing as ANY Yahoo lottery. Yahoo does not give away money. If you normally wouldn't bother with, then don't bother with it now. You give them information, you lose your money!

Ignore it completely. This is spam, nothing else. Also watch out for the letters stating that you have been chosen by a mining corporation to receive 30% of 20,000,000GBP or similar. It is just a scam to get your banking details, and then syphon off your cash. These people made a shed load of cash last year by duping people, do not fall into that trap.
